ring_on_hand.jpgThe Prince George Hotel is the only fully independent Hotel in Nova Scotia to earn a four diamond rating from the Canadian Automobile Association.  General Manager, Nicholas Carson says, "Our four diamond rating is an extremely important designation that enables visitors to establish the quality of this Hotel before they arrive; it is a widely recognized hallmark of quality and therefore essential to an independent Hotel that is not affiliated with a nationally branded chain."

One of the most basic essentials of any four diamond Hotel is impeccable cleanliness and high standards of upkeep.  To create a little excitement and an incentive for the Housekeeping team, Lynn Davis, Rooms Manager, and her team devised a competition that helps the Housekeeping team to provide an exceptionally clean and well maintained product.

In support of Adsum for Women & Children (http://www.adsumforwomen.org/), The Prince George Hotel sponsored a "Blooming Tea" for mothers and their daughters, honouring women celebrating spring on the first day of spring, March 20, 2008. A fresh spin on the traditional English Afternoon Tea, the Prince George "Blooming Tea" celebration featured a service of rare Silver Needle White Teas, hand-picked in the Fujian Province in China, infused with floral jasmine and hand-sewn into the freshest flowers.  The result is a visually stunning display that blooms in hot water. Fresh flowers, live music and a cake auction completed the festivities.

The Prince George Hotel collected and presented 19 school bags stuffed with supplies which are going to be shipped to those in need in Sierra Leone.

At the hotel's most recent Communication Session - a general assembly of all employees - there was a moving and emotional report from Adama Kargbo, daughter of Doris Tarawaly. Adama visited her homeland of Sierra Leone last year and realized how few possessions the children of her home country owned, so she initiated a program of collecting school bags in order to provide the children with some items that we all take for granted. Our teams in the Hotel collected and presented 19 school bags stuffed with supplies which are going to be shipped to those in need. Our gift seemed to overwhelm Adama who responded with a speech of gratitude that bought tears to the eyes of everyone present, and made us realize how lucky we are to have those things we do take for granted. "It was a humbling experience to listen to Adama," said General Manager, Nicholas Carson, "and reminded me how proud I am of the wonderful people in this Hotel who, so unselfishly, gave willingly to such a good cause."
