I am thrilled and excited to announce that Bee Choo Char is appointed to the key position of Gio Restaurant Chef.
Nine years ago a talented young woman from Malaysia joined our culinary team as 3rd Cook. Through hard work, determination and personal schooling, Bee Choo rose through the ranks to become Sous Chef, and an absolute mainstay in our Kitchen.
A graduate of the Culinary Arts program at the Nova Scotia Community College, Bee graduated top of her class. Bee has shone in numerous competitions, receiving the prestigious Alex Clavel Educational Award and winning a Gold Medal three times with Team Nova Scotia. She has also travelled widely to compete, and recently won yet another Gold Medal at the International Competition in Miami, Florida.
Bee Choo and her team - including her equally talented and long serving supporters Mary Arab, 1st Cook and Annaleisa Waito, Pastry Chef - will develop the future menu offerings of Gio, one of Halifax's finest Restaurants. As Gio Restaurant Chef, Bee Choo will lead a small group of some of this country's brightest and most creative young culinary talents to continue growing Gio's well-established reputation for excellence. Under the leadership of Ted Grant, our newly appointed Executive Chef, our Kitchen team has never been stronger.
