To Halifax for the night

We are a family of three and had a appointment at the IWK. This hotel worked perfect for us because of its location. Great parking! Hotel felt clean and friendly which is nice when traveling with a two year old. We stayed on the sixth floor and the lounge was really nice. Would stay there again for sure.

What's most important? Sleep!

My only complaints would be the "soft matress top" and the "slab" pillows. You cannot lie on them without having an uncomfortable neck angle....I wake up many times during e night ease of this.

A great stay

Awesome weekend

This was our 3rd visit to the George recently and the experiance of the George starts at the front desk. Alex is such a great Ambassador for your hotel, always happy and helpful. Our son was married at the George last year and we enjoyed it there so much our 4 adult children gave us gift cards for Xmas last year. Your location is central to everything we do when in Halifax. Last weekend while staying at the George we enjoyed Scotia Square, The Five Fisherman , went to a hockey game at the Metro Center and ended the evening at the Casino

Great weekend at a great hotel

I had the pleasure of staying at the Prince george Hotel for 3 night on my first visit to Halifax. It wa a very enjoyable experience. The front staff were very welcoming, the location perfect. Room on eight floor was comfortable. The only complaint I have is that I did not have the pleasure of harbour view. Will make up for that next time. Thank you.

Wine in Room

Hello, I just checked out of the Prince George Hotel. I enjoyed my stay, the room was clean and the staff were very helpful. My only comment would be on the wine in the room. I was attending the TIANS Confernce, the Tourism Industry Association of Nova Scotia,I assume the hotel is a member. TIANS' role is to promote tourism in Nova Scotia. Having wine in the room was a nice touch but, I think it should have been Nova Scotian wine. I did not take advantage of the wine in my room, I probably would have if it had been local wine. There are a lot of very nice wine local wines, at a similar price point and makng local wines available in the rooms would help promote local business. Thank you. Jim

ITS ALL IN THE DETAIL

Not all hotel rooms are created equal, however, for the most part a clean hotel with a good atmosphere is what most business travellers look for. It's the little things, the imeasurable, intangible things that make a good hotel GREAT. The Prince George has the GREAT alll figured out. They take customer service seriously. No small feat in todays world. The team at the PG provide a welcome home feeling. From the minute you enter the lobby and approach the front desk all the way to the rooms. Having recently had a huge corporate milestone occur in Halifax I made arrangements for my executive team to stay at the PG. I can asure you the hotel didn't disappoint. The little things turned into huge well dones. 6 weeks later my VP of operations still is telling people about his stay and the extra effort put into his arrival and stay. Exceptional is all I can say about Scott and his team!!!! Great touch on the cheese trays with the ship on them. In my years of travel and literally 1000's of nights in a hotel room never have I enjoyed this level of service.

A fine little holiday

I planned a little get away almost at the last minute to take advantage of some free time. The front desk staff were attentive and set me up quickly. I particularly appreciated the fact that, while the person dealing directly with me was relatively new, other more experienced staff were supervising discretely and assisting where required. The first evening was an unwind session for me highlighted by dining in Gio. Jordan and Christy were very attentive and friendly even remembering me from my last visit in April. The next evening was a night at the Symphony and then another relaxing sleep. I did enjoy the buffet breakfast - well laid out and delicious. The only points I can think of to improve the stay is to ask the guest about their newspaper preference for the morning read and perhaps a larger selection of local wines. I did make a request for the Halifax Chronicle Herald at the service desk but I think the request was lost. Some of Nova Scotia wines are world class, particularly our whites, and should be highlighted . All in all a first rate experience.

Over priced

The price was definately too high. And another $22 for parking. The ceiling tiles in the bath had large gaps and the light in those tiles is almost falling out. The stopper in the sink was not attached either. Therefore it was not usable. The rest of the room was fine but priced too high. I travel a lot and stay in equivalent hotels for much better prices. The parking price was the big shocker. $22 That is crazy.

Amazing personal service

But a handwritten note was such a nice touch and so indicative of the lovely, welcoming spirit of everyone I met during my time in Halifax. Wonderful Wedding Weekend

Our stay at The Prince George was very positive. Our room was very clean and spacious. The service was great and staff very friendly, even the guy shining and cleaning the elevator was very personable and took the time to ask us how we were enjoying our stay. The location was great, close to everything we needed to get too. The one thing I would have to say I liked the least was paying $22.00 + taxes a day to park your car. I found the price to be quite high especially when we were all ready paying to stay at the hotel.

Loved my Stay there

I do not think there is anything that I do not like about the prince George, I love my stay there. I stay with you guys each year when Halcon runs as its very close to the venue and I have easy access to the WTCC. My room is always a treat and I love the shower especially the soap you have. I know soap may seem like a tiny thing but honestly when I wake up the smell of that soap makes my day it wake me up and gets me going :). Also the Sunday buffet that your restaurant has is one of my favorite things in Halifax.

what a great stay

What a wonderful stay my husband and I had this past weekend at the Prince George Hotel. We were warmly greeted upon arrival and catered to at every turn. A birthday card was waiting for me from the reservation team member and Yasir then had a bottle of sparkling wine sent up to our room! What a great way to celebrate my birthday. The only hiccup was that someone "lost " or gave away the flowers I was supposed to receive when I checked out. Overall though we had a fantastic stay, thank you so much!

Great time

Very nice, but a couple of surprising things missing.

We have been staying at the Prince George for a number of years. We have always enjoyed our stay. The staff is always very accommodating and the rooms are always clean. This time we stayed in a deluxe room, but to be honest, there was nothing special about the room - it seemed like a regular room. My wife was very disappointed there was no bathtub. I was a little surprised there was no newspaper in the morning and no express check out option.

FANTASTIC!

From the moment we drove up to the main door, we were impressed. Steve was very helpful answering questions and helping us to our room. When we noticed that we were staying on a pet-free floor, we asked about pets (we have a 95-lb chocolate lab). Steve was very forthcoming in providing information, even letting us know that our dog would receive a gift bag. Kim, our room cleaner, kept us very clean and tidy. It was wonderful coming back to a clean, organized room after attending the conference all day. I appreciated the towels at the pool side so I didn't have to bring my own. One of the nicest touches was the water provided (with lemon) in the lobby. We ate two breakfast buffets, a Sunday brunch, and dinner at Gio's. All were excellent! Our server on Sunday evening at Gio's was extra-attentive, even though the restaurant seemed full. She was friendly, informative, helpful, and efficient. John (who was cleaning in front of the elevators) was friendly and helpful. All the staff we encountered, including the desk staff (although I can't remember any names), were friendly and made us feel that they truly wanted to help us.

Neptune Theatre promotion brought us here

The hotel is ideally located to attend Neptune. Several times over the past 15 years, I have suggested to Neptune that for "come from away" patrons there was an opportunity to help us out by obtaining a promotion rate at one or more of the local hotels. Geyaway from it all!!!

After spending a weekend away at the PG in June, we decided another was necessary, Work, life, kids...everything...just get away. When we were booking we looked at a few options at the hotel but decided to book a room on the Crown Floor. If I actually typed what I want to say, people reading this would think the hotel paid me. There was not a single issue and in fact the stay was above and beyond expectations. Check in awesomely quick, we have never checked in to a hotel that fast EVER. The room was HUGE, clean and the bed was super comfy. Six pillows (no room for me) lol on a massive king sized bed. The lounge "Six-Seventeen" is the coolest thing, comp coffee, juice comy couches etc. And finally, the next morning a fantastic delivered Continental Breakfast. Highlights...tons Lowlights....zero

Great stay at the Prince George in Halifax.

Spent two nights at the Prince George in Halifax November 1st and 2nd 2013, and found it to be an opportunity to enjoy excellent accommodations, with an extremely friendly and helpful staff. From the making of the reservation to checkout we were treated in the best way possible. We had some special needs (travelling with an elderly person with some mobility issues) that were handled with care and consideration. The rooms were very clean and up to date, and the overall service was excellent. We would certainly recommend this establishment to people that we know.

We had a wonderful stay!

Feels like home

We love staying here. Bed is always comfortable, clean rooms, mini fridge, parking. Love being downtown to walk to spring garden rd and surrounding areas. We tried the buffet breakfast for the first time and we loved it. We used to walk to Cora's for eggs Benedict but from now in we'll be enjoying a bit of everything at the hotel. I also love that its quiet and we don't hear what's going on in other rooms or the hallway. The ease of reserving a room as a repeat customer is great. I have a corporate rate, otherwise I'd find the price high. But as long as I can get a rate of 125, I won't stay anywhere else.

Great service

GIO was fabulous. The food was excellent, the staff knowledgeable and friendly and the overall ambience was great. Brunch was good, breakfast was good, room service was good, staff everywhere were great. Our room was very nice. Our only issue was getting the shampoo bottle holder to dispense easily. We had a very enjoyable stay and would stay there again.

Very welcomed and comfortable.

My experience was perfect! I would like to point out the concierge in particular...I had a package I needed picked up from another hotel and I just called him to get a #for a taxi or delivery company and without hesitation he insisted he went and got it for me. Not only did he pick it up her dropped it off at the metro center where I was suppose to bring it. I would like to thank the hotel and the concierge once again for the wonderful service. Wonderful Experience

Great hotel Great location Clean Quiet Loved it As a matter of fact tonite we are staying at the beasejour delta in Moncton. We just checked in and I paid to upgrade to a better suite and am so disappointed. No Kleenex in the room. Dark and dreary...Bathroom needs renovation...no makeup mirror in bathroom.... Really enjoyed our stay at Prince George....we were only supposed to stay 2 days but extended it to 3.....just because of the room.....

Hotel is in a great location.

Great Service, Unexpected Touches - a fantastic stay!

The Prince George Hotel hosted my colleagues and I for a week-long conference and I could not have been more impressed. The meeting facilities were perfectly suited for our needs and the staff made sure we had fresh coffee and pastries every day - the staples of a successful work day! The room accomodations were excellent, with comfortable beds and plenty of space for unwinding after a long day. The free wifi was a nice touch as was the cookie for being such "a wicked guest" on Halloween. Halifax isn't a big city, but the hotel is perfectly located within extremely easy walking distance of attractions, pubs, and restaurants. Overall, four out of four stars!
