Lovely hotel in a great location

My husband and I and two other couples came to Halifax to attend a concert at the Metro Center. The booking was easy- we did it online. After booking a deal was offered so I phoned and there was no issue changing our booking to get the deal. Check in and out was fast and easy. The bed was very comfortable and we loved the shower. All in all the Prince George remains my favourite hotel in Halifax.

We Love staying at the Prince George!

What we liked best this last stay was the fact that we left the Blue Rodeo concert and we were back in our room within minutes!

Enjoyable stay in downtown Halifax

Arrived late in evening. Very warmly greeted. Ate at the restaurant, great elk dinner with good wine choice by the bartender. Bartender was very warm and personable. great meal. Slept in. comfortable room and bed. Parking downstairs very convenient. Walked around downtown and enjoyed the beer bars and restaurants. Checked out the next morning. If I visit Halifax again, I will definitely stay at the Prince George.

Pleasant Stay Looking forward to the new look

I have stayed at the PG several times in the past and always enjoyed my time there. A little challenging this time with the renos underway but the staff were pleasant and very efficient. Didnt love having to go outside to get to GIo but completely understand the construction process impacts. All in all a relaxing stay

A wonderful first impression of Halifax!

Recently my 2 daughters and I stayed at The Prince George for 3 nights. GFrom even the first phone call we placed to make our reservation, we felt welcome and cared for. Your staff was always professional and super friendly! The room was extremely comfortable and very well thought out. High quality, independent, business friendly hotel

We are normally just quickly passing through town seeing customers. We have 5 in the Halifax area, All but one within walking distance of the hotel. The internet service is very good. A strong signal makes a huge difference and it was easy to log on. We've never eaten anything but breakfast in the hotel, so I can't comment on that. Regardless, there are several very good restaurants nearby. I'll probably never get to use the pool and Gym because one and two week business trips make it impossible to carry wet kit. The Fairmont hotels supply gym kit but I can't expect an independent to do the same. One day without the pool won't kill me. The staff are always friendly and the courtesy car around town is a real pleasure.

Disappointing

Hi I have been a regular and a fan of the PG for years. I stayed last summer with friends and all three of us were disappointed. I made the comment last summer to which we received lame reply. I am a loyalist and have really liked going to the PG for years so thought I would try it again. It is even worse than in the summer. Has most of the staff be released?Is there not turn down service any more? What about water in the suites? Going to the PG in the past was like going to a really familiar savvy friends house for a visit. The building itself has never been recognized for great decor or architecture but the feeling, service, attention to meaningful detail and warmth made it enjoyable and a place you could look forward to returning to. If you travel a lot hotels even great ones get tiresome ... the PG was never anything but welcoming and a great alternative to home! (huge compliment) now it is sadly just a lousy hotel. Yes it has a good location ... but so do several others in Halifax and the city is small.

Turndown service was eliminated on our Crown Floor and Suites close to five years ago in response to many customers comments.  It would be my pleasure to offer this to you on any subsequent visits so I will go ahead and make these notes on your permanent account.  We definitely still include complimentary water in all our suites so my apologies if we missed your suite for some strange reason. 

Gio being closed for a private function would be very frustrating and we should have made you aware of this when you made your reservation.  I will review this with the reservations team so they know how you felt and so we do not make the same mistake again.  

I hope we can continue to be your hotel of choice in Halifax Ms. Fisher - your business is very important to us.

Great hotel, great rooms

I had a complimentary night stay. We stayed for the Blue Rodeo Concert. Locations was great, hotel was under construction but didn't effect anything. Rooms were great, nice & clean and modern. Loved the AVEDA product and shampoo line used. Overall great stay. Staff we very helpful and friendly. Will definitely be staying again.

Always enjoy staying at the Prince George

I've have always enjoyed staying at the Prince George. I've stayed on many hotels downtown and the Prince George has always kept updated and made updates to keep the hotel with a "new and clean" feel. The staff is always friendly and the rooms are always nice and clean. I also had dinner at Gio restaurant on the lobby floor . The food was excellent! It would be considered a little higher in price range.
